Day 1: SÃO LUIS – BARREIRINHAS
Upon arrival at São Luís Airport, you will be greeted and transferred by private vehicle to Barreirinhas. Check in and free time. At 19pm, we’ll head to the national park of Lenlóis to experience the night sky view with a buffet of fingerfoods and drinks. Return about 21h30, dinner at the hotel and overnight.
Day 2 RIO PREGUIÇAS – ATINS – SUNSET PICNIC
After breakfast, board a private speedboat for a journey along the Preguiças River to Atins Beach visiting the small villages of Vassouras in the edge of the river with lots of monkeys. Then we continue visiting the Mandacaru’s Lighthouse before reach Atins. At the beach a 4×4 vehicle will be waiting to take you to the village of Atins for check-in. In the afternoon at 3:00 PM, embark on a 4×4 excursion to the Canto do Atins, home to the season’s most beautiful lagoons (including Lagoa do Gavião, Lagoa do Kite, and Lagoa da Gaivota). Stop for swimming and photos. The tour finish in a sunset picnic. Return to Atins after dark. Evening at leisure.
Day 3: ATINS – BAIXA GRANDE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
An early start at 5:00 AM for a 4×4 ride along the coast to the trailhead at Rio Negro or Duna da Bandeira. Begin your trek into the heart of the national park, hiking approximately 10 km (4 hours) over dunes to reach the oasis of Baixa Grande. Along the way, stop to swim in stunning, remote lagoons. Upon arrival, settle in and enjoy a regional lunch and dinner (included), featuring local specialties like free-range chicken, goat, or fresh fish (vegan/vegetarian options available). The evening is free to interact with the local community. Overnight in simple accommodations at the oasis.
Day 4: BAIXA GRANDE – QUEIMADA DOS BRITOS (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After an early breakfast, begin today’s longer trek around 6:00 AM. The 17 km (approx. 5.5-hour) hike takes you past the park’s most famous and beautiful lagoons, with plenty of opportunities to swim and take photos. Your destination is the iconic oasis village of Queimada dos Britos, famed for its appearance in films like House of Sand. Lunch and dinner (included) are served at the community, with the same delicious regional options. Another evening to experience the unique culture of the park’s inhabitants.
Day 5: QUEIMADA DOS BRITOS – BETÂNIA – SANTO AMARO (Breakfast, Lunch)
A very early departure (around 4:00 AM) to begin the 21 km trek to Betânia. This longest hiking day (approx. 7 hours) is rewarded with breathtaking views of the park’s largest lagoons. Arrive in Betânia around 11:00 AM for lunch (included) at a local restaurant. After some time to rest, transfer by vehicle to the town of Santo Amaro (2-hour journey).Spend the afternoon at leisure in the hotel.
Day 6: SANTO AMARO – SÃO LUIS DEPARTURE
After breakfast, check out and transfer to São Luís Airport at a pre-arranged time for your departing flight.
